Students’ work shines during Celebration of Scholarship

More than 80 presentations were made during the Celebration of Scholarship: 14th Annual Student Research and Creative Activities Event, held April 25-26 at Reeve Memorial Union. This year, the event kicked off on April 25 with the Spring Honors Thesis Symposium. Seven students — Katrina Bell, Jen Hammerly , Cassie Kautzer , Jennifer Kuklinski, Margaret LaBorde, Laura Roemaat and Alex Zinoviev — gave oral presentations. The topics ranged from “The Importance of Parent Involvement in Play as Perceived by Early Childhood Educators and Parents” to “Use of Screen Real Estate on University Home Pages.” On April 26, students gave 60 poster, 11 oral and three artistic presentations. Audiences enjoyed topics from “Queen Elizabeth I and Self-Fashioning” to “International Patterns in Economic Gender Inequality.” The following students were recognized during the Provost’s Awards Reception on the evening of April 26: Graduate Studies Outstanding Graduate Research Awards – ($200)
